I’m so excited to teach using the new format of Growing in Christ because it has a strong, theologically-sound message.

The new design is teacher friendly and gets the kids involved. The layout is simple and the kids have something to take home each week to reinforce the lesson.

The new Internet component is a fantastic addition. Through the issues raised in these pages, the lesson remains fresh and much more relevant to the students’ lives.

The lesson review page has been very well received. It’s a simple way to make sure the students have a clear understanding of the message presented to them.

We really like the new Sunday School curriculum.  The student packet organization is so helpful.  The new posters are beautiful and go over very well with the students.  The activities on the CDs so far seem to work well with the students also.

We are using Growing in Christ this year for 5th and 6th grade. I would like to say that the jeopardy and bingo quiz cards are a great hit.  They have "rescued" the fall semester for us. The kids are high energy and need to be motivated to pay attention. I like your goal of making history come alive with this art, instead of using a cartoon approach which may encourage the kids to think of the stories as disconnected from the real world.

Phil Diesing, Sunday School Teacher
Community Lutheran Church
South Burlington, VT

Incorporating the Catechism into each lesson is a neat aspect that helps students, not only review, but also apply the Bible story and Catechism to real life situations.

Tim Roggow, DCE
Immanuel Lutheran Church
Simpsonville, SC

I think your Sunday School material is wonderful!  I teach the older kids in our congregation, and I love the fact that it's outlined like a real bible study, incorporating law and gospel, and issues that are important to our Lutheran Confessions.

Lesley Desjardins
Christ Lutheran Church
Neepawa, Manitoba, Canada

Our favorite new feature is the complete series of realistic art to illustrate each story. Another very significant innovation in the curriculum is that the adult lessons run simultaneously with the children’s.  Parents and grandparents can study the same Bible stories their kids are learning—along with every other adult who realizes how precious are the very events of God’s saving history.

Every illustration, song, lesson is the message of Jesus. The Law that shows how much we need Him, and the Gospel which assures us we have forgiveness and life by His life, death, and resurrection—what every story in God’s holy history has been leading to. Sunday school curricula from Concordia Publishing House have always been about “growing in Christ.” The new curriculum enables that in wonderful new ways.
